Configuring Streams

The Streams page lists the defined streams for the decoder, including the Name, Connection details, Protocol, and Status for each stream. From here, you can add multiple streams for the decoder and configure the stream settings.

To open the Streams page:

  1. Click Streaming on the sidebar, and select the Streams tab.
    The Streams page opens.
     
  2. From the Streams page, you can perform the following tasks:
    1. To create a stream, click the Add Stream button. For details, see Adding a Stream below. 
    2. To view details or modify the settings for a stream, click the Settings icon 
       in the Stream panel to expand the Stream Detail View. 

    3. To view the statistics for a stream, click the Statistics icon 

       to open the statistics panel. From here, you can Reset the stream statistics, or access the Detailed Statistics.

      Tip

      To expand or collapse the statistics or settings details for all streams at one time, hold the shift key and click the Statistics icon 

      or Settings icon 
       
      on any stream.

    4. Click the More Options 
       menu to Reset Statistics, Duplicate, or Delete any stream.  

    5. Check the checkboxes to the left of the stream panels to Delete, Reset Stats or Set Latency for multiple streams at one time.
      You can also apply the above actions to all streams by checking the check box above the stream list.

      Note

      The Set Latency function is not available for RTP or UDP streams. 

    6. To modify the sort order, click the Sort dropdown menu. The default is set to sort by Name, in Ascending order, as in the following example:
       

Adding a Stream

To add a stream:

  1. From the Streams page, click Add Stream.
    The New Stream panel opens.
  2. Type a name for the stream in the Name field.
  3. Select the stream Protocol, for example, TS over UDP. To configure TS over SRT streams, see Configuring Secure Reliable Transport (SRT). 

    To configure TS over SRT streams, see Configuring Secure Reliable Transport (SRT).

  4. Select the stream Type, either Unicast or Multicast.
  5. For Multicast streams, type in the Multicast Address, for example, 225.2.2.2.
  6. Type in the Port number, for example, 5000.
  7. To configure the transport stream settings, toggle TS Settings on and fill in the PID filtering values and Program Number where applicable. See Stream Settings.
  8. Click Add Stream.
  9. The new stream is added to the streams list, but is not yet active.
     
  10. To activate the stream, bind it to one of the decoder outputs. To do so: 
    1. Go to the dashboard, select the new stream from stream dropdown (below the preview thumbnail) on any available decoder, and click Apply.
      OR 
    2. Go to the Decoders page, click the Settings icon
       on any available decoder, select the new stream from the Stream dropdown, and click Apply
  11. To add another stream, click Add Stream and follow the previous steps (Step #2 - #9) to configure the stream.
