HMP 4.0
Customize Captions in the Modern Player
Added ability to customize the display of captions in the browser, including font type and color, background color and transparency, text size, and caption positioning. Administrators may change the default behavior for all users, while individual users can override the administrator's settings in their browser.
Note
This feature does not apply to the low-latency player as captions are not yet supported. Additionally, this feature does not affect captions displayed on connected set-top boxes.

Software Based FIPS Encryption
Replaced the hardware-based FIPS encryption modules with software-based cryptographic modules accredited under the U.S. Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) Publication 140-2. As a result, the FIPS enable button has been removed from the Administration > System Settings > Security > Appliance page. The software-based FIPS modules can now be optionally enabled via the command line.
Note
If your HMP 3.8 has FIPS enabled, prior to upgrading to version 3.9, you must disable FIPS. After the upgrade to HMP 3.9 completes, the software-based FIPS modules can be enabled as detailed in Enabling/Disabling FIPS Cryptographic Modules.

HEVC and 4K Playback Support
Added HEVC and 4K support for Play 2000B and Play 4000 Set-Top Boxes playback. For Play 1000 and 2000A STBs, HEVC/4K content is not supported and is filtered out of the library and EPG views. Added 4K support for browser playback.

Due to lack of browser support, HEVC playback in the browser is not supported. However, other functions of the HEVC sources in the browser are supported (e.g., recording sessions, scheduling sessions).
