Connection Issues

Audio/Video Artifacts

  • Ensure that Traffic Shaping is Off on streams above 7Mbps. To change the Traffic Shaping, use the stream command in the CLI, or access the stream settings from the web interface [go to Streaming > Streams > Settings > Link Parameters].

  • Select 4:2:2 chroma subsampling to maintain color fidelity and prevent artifacts [go to Streaming > Video Encoders > Settings].

  • Enable Scene Change Detection to generate an I-Frame to reduce trailing artifacts [go to Streaming > Video Encoders > Settings].

Connection Issues

  • If you encounter a Security Certificate Warning (e.g. “This Connection is Untrusted.” or, “The site’s security certificate is not trusted.”) on your first connection, you must accept the Makito’s self-signed certificate in order to access the Web interface.

  • If you are noticing significant buffering (where the buffer value goes to or above the Latency value) then there is likely insufficient bandwidth to support the desired bitrate. In this case, try decreasing your bitrate.

If you are connecting to the encoder through an IPv4 connection, disabling the IPv4 interface will drop your connection after a reboot. You will need to re-connect using IPv6 or the serial interface (if available).
