Review these recommendations if you are having issues with your Network connection.

General

Enable only the required network services to optimize your encoder’s performance.
Community and user network access permissions may be additive. Check whether or not your new and existing network sources are complementary, if so, the new source permission will be added to the existing one instead of replacing it. See nmcfg.

IP

To access the Web interface, your computer must be in the same IP address range (subnet) as the encoder.

You may have to temporarily change your computer’s IP Address to be in the same subnet as the encoder. Only then will you be able to access the encoder and change its IP address, and then afterwards change your computer's IP address back.

If you are connecting to the Makito X Series through an IPv4 connection, disabling the IPv4 interface will drop your connection. You will need to reconnect using IPv6 or the serial interface (if available).
If there is a slow DHCP server at the client’s site, you can adjust the DHCP Client Retries and Timeout options from the CLI using the ipconfig command. Try increasing the Timeout value, and/or increasing the DHCP Client Retries in order to circumvent issues caused by the unit booting before obtaining a valid DHCP address.

Metadata from Network Sources

For ToS, A DiffServ or DSCP (Differentiated Services Code Point) value must be converted to a ToS precedence value. For example, AF41 or DSCP 34 becomes ToS 136. For more information, see RFC2474.
The ToS setting must be chosen so as not to interfere with Voice over IP systems and other equipment that may reside on your network. For example, when the ToS value for a stream is set to 0xB8, it can interfere with some third party Voice / IP Telephony systems.
