Firmware Updates

Review these tips and recommendations if you are having issues with your updating your firmware:

Expired License
  • Your license may be expired or at the version limit. If so, you will need to obtain and install a new license before proceeding with the update. See Managing Licenses.

Do not delete existing licenses before uploading the new license unless instructed to do so by Haivision. If you did, contact Haivision Support for assistance.

Rebooting
  • You must reboot the system in order to successfully update the firmware.

  • Once you’ve clicked Reboot, remain on the loading page and do not click anything else in the Makito FX web interface. Do not proceed, or shut down the system, while the Status LED is still flashing. Failure to wait could result in damage to your system.

Timeout Error
  • If you are encountering a Timeout Error, it may be due to a proxy or gateway. If your Makito is operating behind a proxy or gateway with a default 30 second timeout, you will either receive an error or be prompted to upload the package again. If this occurs:

    • Wait approximately two minutes and refresh the web page. Upon refreshing, you should see that the package you uploaded is pending installation.

    • Click Reboot to proceed with the update.

Updating from the CLI
  • If updating from the web interface is not working, try updating from the CLI using the package command.

Review the Update
  • Verify the result of the installation on the Messages page.
