Makito Encoder to Decoder Interop

Set up streaming from a Makito Encoder to a Makito Decoder.

The following steps apply to the Makito X and X4 devices.

Step 1: Set Up a Stream on the Encoder

Install and power up the Makito Encoder. For details, see Install the Encoder.
Log into the web interface. For details, see Access the Web Interface.
Set up a Video Encoder.
1. Go to Streaming > Video Encoders.
2. Click the Settings icon on one of the video encoder panels, and select the A/V source Input.
3. Configure the following recommended settings to optimize interop with a Makito X or X4 decoder. For additional details, see Video Encoder Settings.
Set up an Audio Encoder.
1. Go to Streaming > Audio Encoders.
2. Click the Settings icon on one of the audio encoder panels, and select the Input Interface.
3. Configure the remaining settings. For details, see Audio Encoder Settings.
Set up your Stream.
1. Go to Streaming > Streams.
2. Click the Add Stream button.
3. Select the Video Encoder and Audio Encoder that were set up in steps 3 and 4.
4. Configure the remaining settings. For details, see Stream Settings.

In the Destination parameters, ensure that the Address field matches the IP address of your decoder, and that the Destination Port number matches the Port number of the stream you will set up on the decoder.

Click Add Stream again.

Step 2: Connect the Stream to your Decoder

Install and power up the Makito Decoder. See Install the Decoder.
Log into the Web Interface. For details, see Access the Web Interface.
Set up a stream.
1. Go to Streaming > Streams.
2. Click the Add Stream button.
3. Configure the stream settings.

Ensure that the Port number in the Streaming Parameters matches the Destination Port number in your encoder stream.

d. Click Add Stream again.

Set up a Decoder Output.
1. Click the Settings icon on the decoder output you would like configure.
2. From the Stream dropdown, select the stream you set up in step 3.
3. Configure the decoder settings as needed. For details, see Decoder Settings.
Click Apply.

Step 3: Review your Stream

Once you’ve set up the Encoder stream and connected it to your decoder, you should see:

The Stream status change to Streaming ICON TBD on both the Encoder and Decoder.
Clips of your running stream appearing in the preview thumbnail.
