Connecting Audio Peripheral Devices
Before setting up the Intercom function, you must connect audio peripheral devices to the StreamHub server. You can either use the StreamHub internal sound card (if exists) or an external audio rack.
If your Haivision server does not have an internal sound card, connect an audio rack to one of the USB 2.0 ports of the StreamHub server.
Important
You can connect up to two audio racks to the server, provided that both models are identical.
External audio racks have been qualified by Haivision:
- Digital audio racks:
- M-Audio M-Track Eight
- Presonus 1824C
- FocusRite Scarlett 18i20 Gen3
- Digital audio racks:
- When using digital audio, connect a microphone and headphones to the connectors of the internal sound card or to the audio rack.
When using Dante rack, use Dante Controller to connect your audio peripheral. Note the inputs and outputs to which you connected the audio peripheral devices. You will need this information to configure the Intercom function.
Note
StreamHub is designed to be compatible with any USB audio compliant device.
Please note that depending on each device's features, all provided functions may be not covered.
In addition to qualified peripherals listed above, some devices have been tested functional for their primary bi-directional audio features:- Dante AVIO USB I/O adapter
- Yamaha RUio 16-D Dante, Analog and USB audio interface
- Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 4th Gen
You can now set up the Intercom function from the Settings > Intercom configuration page.
