Finding Your DHCP IP Address
When setting your IP Addressing to Automatic (DHCP) you will have to identify the new IP address after your reboot in order to access your unit.
If you have already paired the Makito with either Hub 360 or Haivision EMS, you can easily locate the new IP from either management system. See Viewing Appliance Details (Hub 360), or Device Summaries (EMS). If you are not paired with any management systems, there are a few alternative methods you can use.
Finding your IP Address via Command Line/Terminal
To use the command line or terminal to identify your IP:
Important
Before rebooting your unit to enable DHCP, you must enable the mDNS service and save the mDNS hostname. See Enabling and Disabling Network Services.
Ensure that your computer is on the same network as your Makito.
From your computer, open the terminal or a command line.
Ping the mDNS hostname that you previously saved with the .local suffix, e.g.
CODEping MX4E-HAI-031923080008.localYou should see the Makito’s IP address returned.
Finding your IP Address via mDNS Browsers
There are also a number of mDNS browsers that you can run to identify the Makito’s IP address, including:
Tildesoft for macOS Tildesoft
Bonjour Browser for Windows Bonjour Browser for Windows
These browsers will display the Makito mDNS data as an HTTP service, once expanded the IP address will be listed.
Consult Your Network Administrator
If the above methods are ineffective, we recommend consulting your network administrator.
