Configuring AC3 and E-AC3 Pass-Through Audio
To configure Dolby Digital AC3 and E-AC3 pass-through audio:
- From the Audio Encoders List View, click the Settings icon in the audio encoder panel you wish to modify.
- For the Codec, select 16-bit Pass-Through.
Select the audio source containing Dolby AC3 or E-AC3 audio from the Input Interface dropdown.
Note
Dolby AC3 or E-AC3 audio sources can be SDI or ST 2110-31.
Select the Channel Mode. For AC3 or E-AC3 audio, the Channel Mode will determine what audio data is passed through, based on the SMPTE 337 encapsulation mode used in the upstream source.

When passing through AC3 or E-AC3 audio content with a SMPTE 337-5 encapsulation mode, the Channel Mode is unused. See Audio Encoder Settings for details on SMPTE 337 encapsulation modes.
Select the set of Input Channels on which to assign the Channel Mode.
Note
The Input Channel options will change automatically depending on the required audio channels of the selected Channel Mode.
- Type in the Language, or select it from the dropdown menu.
To apply your changes, click Apply.
