Reserving StreamHub Inputs for Live or File Forward Bookings
For each of your StreamHubs (cloud and on-premise), you may decide how many inputs you wish to reserve for lives and file forwards.
Click Appliances in the sidebar.
Click the icon next to the StreamHub you wish to edit. The settings panel opens:
In the Inputs Reservation section, choose from the three available options:
Default: No reservations for either live or file forward inputs. If any lives or file forwards are started, they are assigned to the first available input on the StreamHub.
Live: All inputs are used for lives only. No file forwards will be assigned to this StreamHub when they are started.
Custom: Allows you to configure the number of inputs reserved for lives or file forwards. When selected, a slider appears to configure how many inputs to reserve for each. For example, the following figure shows a 32-input StreamHub, where 24 are reserved for lives and 8 are reserved for file forwards. As lives are started on this StreamHub, they are assigned starting at input #1. As file forwards are started, they are assigned starting at input #25.
Click the Apply Changes button.
As lives and file forwards are started and booked on your StreamHub they will be assigned according to the new configuration.
Note
Any current lives or file forwards are not affected by the new setting. For example, if a file forward is currently active on the StreamHub and this setting is changed to reserve all inputs for lives only, the file forward continues uninterrupted. However, if the file forward is stopped and restarted, then it will not be assigned an input to this StreamHub.
