Preliminary Steps
This topic describes the preliminary steps before upgrading Command 360 or CineNet to Command 360 4.5.
Links to relevant documentation are included where applicable.
Note
The process will differ if the system has a Manager appliance, or the upgrade is from CineNet to Command 360.
Dual operating systems in the same system are not supported. In other words, if your appliances are on Windows 10 but you introduce a new appliance that is on Windows 11, all appliances must be upgraded to Windows 11.
Understand the upgrade process, estimated downtime, and features/workflows that do not correlate in Command 360.
If necessary, make any network firewall modifications.
Obtain software license keys and hard drives:
Windows 10 LTSC 2021 license for CineNet to Command 360 upgrades.
If upgrading a Command 360 appliance, the existing Windows 10 LTSC license can be reused. A new Windows 10 LTSC license is necessary for any CineNet to Command 360 upgrade.
Macrium LTSC license. The MAC address from each appliance is needed to obtain a Macrium license. You need one license for each Site/Command 360 Manager, Alpha FX video processor, and CineAgent appliance.
Command 360 Pro/Elite license. Most Command 360 systems already have a compliant license. Best practice in this case is to relicense. Command 360 Standard and Device Control Lite licenses will not function properly.
Appliance hard drives. The ISO process will not function if the device has less than 500 GB. CineMassive and some older Haivision CineAgent 4 appliances require a hard drive upgrade.
Obtain two USB drives with at least 25 GB of storage.
Create BIOS drive
Create Windows/Command 360 ISO drive
Important
You cannot use the same drive for both BIOS and ISO processes.
Do not clone USB drives. Create a new ISO with Rufus.
